The flood is preceded by a time of darkness. A light is seen and rejoiced by most, but it is the flood (blood flooding the riverbanks), and only a few have escaped destruction by means of a vessel and then only the bloodshed because the vengeance god was tricked into getting drunk. After the flood, the earth has to be recreated using a small amount of soil.

There's a boy raised by humans somewhere (called scarface) that is in fact the sun of the morning star, and is able to go between the sky country and earth, but stays in the sky country.

Ages of man: 1) golden/goodness for 4000yrs, then 400yr twilight; 2) energy (production and unsustainability) for 3000yrs ending in anarchy, then twilight for 300yrs; 3) mixture of 1 and 2 (sage appears and writes scriptures - knowledge) 2000/200; 4) darkness, at the end of which either go to 1, or it's the apocalypse.

The earliest people lived underground near a beautiful lake. A root from a grapevine poked down into their village, and they climbed out into the upper world. The root eventually broke, leaving half the people underground - when we die, we join them.
