Aug. 11th, 2007 12:42 pmThis morning I went to South Queensferry to meet a 13-yr old labrador cross called Floyd and her owners. They were very nice, and the dog is just wonderful. She's a bit frail, but really sweet - she reminds me of Lucy, the old dog on the island who used to show everyone around. But yes, I shall only be doing short walks with her, but there's beaches galore five minutes away so it will be a nice walk. And there's a potential to walk another dog in the building who's apparently a boisterous puppy but they get on fine. I start walking Floyd when I get back from Oxford.
And Paul and Edith should be here any moment. Hurrah!
I also applied for an exciting looking job working on Santa Rosa Island, part of the Channel Islands National Park off the coast of California. Hooray for remote islands! They have endemic foxes and skunks and stuff. I also applied for one in Dorset working for the British Herpetological Society. I should really do some more applications today (there's a job in Point Reyes, one in Hawaii, and one in Washington that I should send the applications off for in the next couple of days), but fun stuff will probably win.
Really I want a nap.
