last night i watched the piladelphia story, and it was wonderful. it is now added to my list of films to have as my very own, alongside batteries not included, fried green tomatoes at the whistlestop café (i'm a jessica tandy fan), a thousand clowns and whale rider (when it is available).

tomorrow we are leaving at about 4 in the morning to go to the cape. that will be nice. no computer. :) i am quite tired.

My darlings,

This is a quick note to bid you farewell, since tomorrow marks my arrival at my family's charming summer home, in a simply enchanting little village on Cape Cod. I will be sure to rest my poor tired soles, which I have recently been exhausting in a number of fine shopping establishments en ville. It really is wonderful to experience the town every now and again, after all - one does feel so awfully secluded in the country. Of course, I will not only be enjoying some well-deserved repose - I'm sure a serious game of tennis or two will be on the agenda, not to mention as much picnicking as I can muster. The weather, I'm sure, will be perfect for a spot of sailing, which is thankful. What a ghastly prospect - to be in prime sailing locale experiencing poor weather!

I hope your summers are just as marvellous as mine, and I will be so glad to show you my slides upon my return.
